Nursing is a sacred and noble profession. We can not even think about a modern hospital without nurses. There is a great demand of qualified nurses in the whole world. Nursing is a challenging job, as it requires long hours of physical and mental work. It also requires lot of patience, strength and courage. A nurse is like an angel, who look after the patients with a smiling face. Nursing schools give stipend to under training nurses. Usually nurses works in hospitals and clinics but some of the serve the patients privately too.

A nurse keeps the record of patient’s medical condition and follows the directions of doctor regarding patient’s treatment and diet. She serve the humanity without any discrimination. That’s why nurses are respected all over the world. The first nursing school was established in 1854 at Saint Thomas hospital in UK by Florance Nightingale. This profession is not just for females as lot of male nursing staff is also working in hospitals. I want to request you never call a nurse with the word nurse, always call them sister. We need to elevate the status of this noble profession. Respect the nurses as one day your own sister can also become a nurse.

Nurses also look after the patients at their homes. These nurses have to work for long hours, but at the same time,fees of such nurses is very high, ranging from 10000 to 50000 or may be more. This is known as private practice of nurses. Internationally nursing is considered as a female profession. Now a days there is a massive demand of qualified nurses in Middle East and European Union. Pak army grants the nurses commission in the rank of Lieutenant after successful completion of training course.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission in Nursing Course
The age should be of 17 to 25 years at the time of admission in nursing and at times age relaxation can be given in special cases up to 40 years.
Matriculation with science subjects with 55% to 60% marks.
Fsc pre medical with 55% marks.
Female unmarried or without encumbrances.

Documents Required For Admission in Nursing Course
a. Two attested photocopies of each educational certificate/degree.
b. Candidates serving in any government departments will render No Objection Certificate (NOC)..
c. Attested photocopy of domicile.
d. Photocopies of computerized national Identity Card.
e. Coloured photos duly attested.

After completing your 3 years nursing course, nurses can apply for midwifery course. Pakistan Nursing Council (PNS) Islamabad was established in 1948 to regulate education of nursing in Pakistan. Super Tips For Nurses
1-All nurse should get admission in midwifery course as majority of maternity homes in Pakistan are run by nurses.

2-You may also get admission in FTJ or DHMS diploma course for private practice as a physician. You may use the title of Dr before your name after getting the DHMS diploma.
