Supplementary exam is conducted maximum within 2 months after the announcement of annual exam result. All divisions of Punjab have their own boards of intermediate and secondary education, which cover all the districts under the jurisdiction of their divisions. Although these boards are semi autonomous bodies as far as their internal matters are concerned, still these boards are functioning under the supervision of Punjab education department.
